The 2018 Texsource Open House included door prizes and giveaways, free PMS pints (PMS color matching available here) delicious BBQ provided by 238 Cherokee Grill of Kings Mountain, vendor demonstrations and several seminars from manufacturers. Highlights of these seminars include Matsui Ink Internationals new RFU Discharge Waterbase System with Enrique Castillo representing & Easiway Systems Dip Tank products with Frank Ventimiglia and PJ Bordner representing. In addition to several other seminars, both events were huge hits with attendees. Vendor demos were happening throughout both days, highlights of which include getting to try out Ulanos automatic scoop coater and their EZ film emulsion. Getting to see Workhorse Products’ Sabre Series automatic press in action was a source of excitement for many attendees and employees alike. Lorrie Simpson from Carolina Made was here to answer any questions and offer insight to attendees and commented on the fact that Bella + Canvas was the most recognized brand among female consumers. Vastex International was onsite with some of their most popular products such as the V2000 Manual Press, their LED exposure units, drying cabinets and dryers. PMI Tape was also on site to demonstrate their line of split tape which peels off cleanly without leaving residue, tearing, or damaging your emulsion.
One of the ways Texsource promoted the event was through the sale of custom pink T-shirts with the Texsource logo supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the proceeds being given to The Hospice House of Kings Mountain. Employees as well as customers were seen wearing the bright colored shirts both days of the event in addition to heather grey shirts with the same design. The pink shirts can still be purchase here on the site for $5. Although most people opted to eat indoors, attendees were able to enjoy their lunch outside in a designated picnic area and take advantage of the fair weather. For attendance this year, our sales representatives saw an upswing in new customers, even people completely new to screenprinting; a slight contrast from the 2016 Open House.
Earlier this year, Texsource reached out to its customers and asked for feedback on how they can better set up the dates for the Open House. The reasoning for holding the event on a Friday and Saturday for the first time was to allow more customers to be able to attend. In seeing more new customers attend and fewer people than anticipated showing up, Texsource says they are looking for better ways, or dates rather, for the future of the Open House to accommodate as many people as possible. Viable dates may include an early spring show on a weekend instead of the middle of the week, as previously held events have occurred on. Texsource looks forwarding to hearing more feedback from customers for ways to better host the event in the future. However, the company, vendors and attendees all agree that the event went smoothly and was a success. Social media coverage of the event was heavily appointed to Instagram with footage frequently added to their “story”. Visit the Texsource Instagram profile to view the “2018 Open House Highlight”. Plenty of photos and footage were taken, so be sure to check their Facebook page in the coming days and here on the site for a look back on an incredible event if you were unable to attend.
A word from Texsource:
The 2018 Open House event was a
success because of you, our customers. A special thank you to our staff who
worked hard the whole month leading up to the
event to prepare our facilities and make it a “home” for our guests. Without
everyone, the event wouldn’t have been possible. We would also like to thank
our incredible vendors for taking the time out of their busy schedules to come
and engage with customers new and old. We also want to thank all the people who
worked hard to prepare the delicious food. Your hard work paid off, as
customers frequently commented on the quality of the food and accommodations.
We look forward to the next Open House!
