Q:
I have done the wash test and the print dulls. I have taken a fresh print and run though dry twice, I have take print from dry and heat pressed it still I have a dulling after wash. Should it dull?

A:
Hello Harold. Some dulling is, of course, expected in all inks especially after the first wash. The issue is that shimmer inks, by their nature, will appear to dull more than standard color plastisol colors. The key to reduce the effect as much as possible is proper curing. You can print on test pellons with different curing times and temperatures, mark them appropriately, and do a test wash of those. You will be able to see which ones marked showed the least dulling in this manner. Hope this helps!

Q:
Can you print another color on top of the Silver Foil?

A:
Hello Kenny, thanks for the questions. As this is a plastisol you can print on top of it, but as it is a special effects ink it may be a thicker ink that what you are used to. As always, attempt a test print on a pellon and analyze the results of your particular print, but yes you should be able to print on top under most circumstances.

We print with this product often. I have several customers that just love it. It is a bit thick, but it prints well often with no underbased and has a particulary bright finish (print / flash / print) or with white underbase.

Not what I thought
I bought the silver foil SHIM 11537. This stuff was thicker than paste. Very hard to flood the screen. The drying seemed to be very difficult as well. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I went to clean it off the screen and it coated my hands, I thought I was entering the matrix at first. After a great deal of scrubbing it did come off. I think I will not use this again !! hopefully the store will work with me on this. I really enjoy the company and the people are great !!!
